Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer Resurgence DLC Brings New Characters, and More

INFO :

Shortly after confirming that Mass Effect 3 will get a special Extended Cut DLC that will clarify the ending of its story, BioWare has now revealed the first add-on for the game's multiplayer mode, in the form of the Resurgence pack, which is filled with new characters, maps, weapons, and consumables.

Mass Effect 3's multiplayer is a thoroughly impressive experience that delivers, provided you have decent squad mates, some great online matches.

Sadly, even if BioWare continued to run special Operations each weekend, things were getting a bit stale.

Thankfully, it seems that the studio noticed this and has just confirmed that next week will see the release of the first DLC for Mass Effect 3's multiplayer, in the form of the Resurgence pack.

Its contents practically confirm what we saw last month, bringing not just new maps and weapons, but also new classes and some fresh consumables that can be equipped in matches.

The most important, as you can imagine, are the new classes, namely the Asari Justicar Adept, Krogan Battlemaster Vanguard, Batarian Soldier and Batarian Sentinel, Geth Infiltrator and Geth Engineer.

New maps, weapons and consumables are also included, so check out the full details about Mass Effect 3's Resurgence multiplayer pack below.

Two New Action-Packed Maps – Take the battle to Firebase Condor, a warzone outpost located on one of Palaven's moons and Firebase Hydra, an old abandoned quarian colony which has since been converted into a critical power facility. Each map represents a crucial asset in the overall fight against the Reapers.

Six Powerful New Unlockable Characters – Assume the role of new characters for each class, including the Asari Justicar Adept, Krogan Battlemaster Vanguard and characters from new playable races with the Batarian Soldier, Batarian Sentinel, Geth Engineer and Geth Infiltrator.

Lethal New Weapons – Obliterate wave after wave of enemies by unlocking the Striker Assault Rifle, Kishock Harpoon Gun and Geth Plasma SMG.

New Consumables – Cash in your credits to purchase reinforcement packs that could include the following new consumables:
Strength Enhancer – Applies a melee damage boost for one mission
Targeting VI – Applies a headshot damage bonus for one mission
Stabilization Module – Stabilizes weapons while firing and moving for one mission
Shield Power Cells – Shortens the length of time shields take to begin recharging for one mission

What's more, the Mass Effect 3 Resurgence pack will be available next week completely free of charge. The add-on goes live on April 10, for Xbox 360 and PC users from all around the world, as well as for North American PS3 owners, and on April 11 for European PS3 users.

After a lot of debate and plenty of campaigns from fans to change the ending of Mass Effect 3, BioWare has now announced that a special downloadable add-on called Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut will be made available free of charge this summer.

Mass Effect 3 was a great game that delivered an almost perfect mix of shooting and role-playing, complete with a story that was supposed to bring an epic conclusion to the adventures of Commander Shepard.

According to lots of players, however, that conclusion was utterly disappointing, so they started asking developer BioWare to change it into something else.

After the studio promised that a special downloadable add-on would be released to bring further clarity to the game’s conclusion, the actual expansion has now been revealed.

This summer, BioWare will release the Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut DLC pack, which will “expand upon the events at the end of the critically acclaimed Action RPG.”
“Through additional cinematic sequences and epilogue scenes, the Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut will give fans seeking further clarity to the ending of Mass Effect 3 deeper insights into how their personal journey concludes,” according to the studio.

What’s more, the DLC will be completely free of charge across all of Mass Effect 3’s platforms, namely the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

"We are all incredibly proud of Mass Effect 3 and the work done by Casey Hudson and team," said Dr. Ray Muzyka, Co-Founder of BioWare and General Manager of EA's BioWare Label. "Since launch, we have had time to listen to the feedback from our most passionate fans and we are responding. With the Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut we think we have struck a good balance in delivering the answers players are looking for while maintaining the team's artistic vision for the end of this story arc in the Mass Effect universe."

According to Casey Hudson, the executive producer of the Mass Effect series, the DLC will be released soon and will deliver a conclusion that feels more personal for each player.

"We have reprioritized our post-launch development efforts to provide the fans who want more closure with even more context and clarity to the ending of the game, in a way that will feel more personalized for each player," Hudson said.

Are you happy with the announcement of the Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut DLC or do you think BioWare should have completely rewritten the ending?
